NVIDIA 8800 and some old Formac monitors

Just got my brand new Mac Pro with its NVIDIA 8800 card, which I bought thinking it would be compatible with the old Formac monitors I've got. It's not.

Both of the monitors have this connector:

I've managed to hook up one of the monitors using an adapter:

Is this the only way to get the DVI ports to output to my ageing monitors? I was hoping to have a 2 screen setup.

It looks like your Formac monitors have "ADC" video connectors ("Apple Display Connector") which carries both video and power over one cord.

ADC has since been discontinued and is no longer used by Apple (nor anyone, for that matter).

Yes, if indeed those connectors are "ADC" connectors (your Formac manual will specify so), then your only option is a big, ugly adaptor.

Big, ugly (and expensive) adapter it is then. Still cheaper than a couple of new monitors. Bugger!

Thanks for the info, ElDiablo.
