One of my keys "The tab key. I have been trying for 2 hours now to put it back :( There are tvo plastics which has to be crossed and the fitted to the board, some how. It's not broken,

But is there a tutorial that some budy know, doing this ??

IS it an expensive keyboard? If not you can just go out and by another one can't you?
Of course if you do you must use a key converter program.
Other than that, just jam it in and see if it works...

That's probably not all that helpful, and its high time people learnt to stop throwing things out rather than spend 2 minutes trying to fix them.

What type of keyboard is it? A laptop/desktop? Brand?

With most keyboards, if you position the parts correctly and press into position, the key will click into place.

I've found that if you use a piece of thin string or thread you can manipulate the "prongs" in order to get their little pins into place.

Mine fell off, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to put it back. I brought to the Apple store and the genius put it back in like 1 second. Search the forum, some where I read how to, you should be able to fix it yourself.

Is it an illuminated keyboard? If not, the keyboard should be the same as for my iBook (just in a different colour) in which case the key should just click into place if you press it into position.

If you can't get it, though, find an experienced Mac tech. They'll fix it for you in two shakes of a lamb's tail.

Exactly the same thing happened on my iBook. Every attempt to place the key back in failed. The keys are kept in via a scissor-like configeration of two plastic rings. Usually, the key will snap back in easily, but if the rings are damaged then you are in trouble.

I agree, a specialist might do it. In my case that involved a 250 kilometre round trip. I therefore phoned the Apple Store and was told that it was probably best to buy a new keyboard at a cost of 75 CYP/€130. Yea right boyo, as if I am likely to pay that!

I went on eBay and got a brand new keyboard for 7 CYP/ €12. It arrived in five days and took five minutes to replace.

I actually have a keyboard for that computer. Not sure how to replace the keys on that type of board.
