'Open...' dialog box not displaying all folders

Hi! Using OS X 10.4 here on a G4 with all the latest updates.

I'm connected to a network drive which I can browse and use fine using the Finder, however when I try to open files on this drive from an application (Word, Photoshop, etc.) it only shows me one folder on this drive, when there should be about ten. I don't have this problem when I chose 'Save as...' and it just started this week.

Any ideas?

What protocol are you using to connect to the server? AFP? SMB/CIFS?

I usually connect with AFP, but I switched the connection to SMB for troubleshooting and still had the problem.

That is strange... is this the only network share present, or is there another you can try? If there are more than one, is this the only one that exhibits this problem?
