I am having a huge problem with my iMac 333mhz. When I start up it comes up with the following message:

Code:
Defaulf Catch! Code=300 at %SRR0: FF80B1A0 %SRR1: 0000B030

I can not think of anything I did to cause this problem.

I have tried the following commands:

RESET-NVRAM
RESET-ALL (Caused the mac to turn off and back on)
and
MAC-BOOT

I have restarted in 9 with my os 9 disk selected the HD as the start up disk with but mac still refuses to restart.

Mac is a Tangerine iMac 333MHZ running Os 10.2.6 384mb RAM

Thanks for your help!

How do you know it's a firmware issue? Does it occur all the time, or just by booting into OF, or only when you don't boot into OF?

If it actually is a firmware problem, I suggest you update your firmware.

Try booting up with no external devices attached (except mouse and keyboard). If the Open Firmware prompt comes up, then retype the same commands you have tried before (again) :
reset-nvram <enter> you should see 'ok'
reset-all <enter> the system should restart.
if you get the Open Firmwarre prompt again. then type mac-boot <enter>
Check to see that your clock is correct time (more or less). If way off (1956, or 1972, or 1904, or 1900) then you may have a dead battery, that could be contributing to your problems.
Easiest way to check the battery,
Set Clock and date to correct, then shut your system down, AND UNPLUG the power cord, leave sitting for 30 mins or more, plug aback in, boot up, If clock is still accurate, then battery is good. If not, then get battery replaced.
Last Q? Have you very recently added memory to this system?
