Hello

i´ve got a real big fu*** problem with my mac os X server 10.2.4.
After installing os X server i tried the open firmware password.
With this password you can only choose the boot image while pressing the alt-key after you type the right password.... but whether i type the right or any wrong password... nothing happens.

So now, i cannot boot my mac anymore cause the chosen boot image won´t boot (os9) and i cannot boot from another boot section.

Is there any chance to get that fu**** open firmware pass away?
Or any other ideas... please help....
my mac wont boot anymore...

System: g4, 466, 640ram, three partitions on a 60gig disk.
1 partition os X server 10.2.4, second partition os9(wont boot, but is chosen as boot image), and a third partition.. only data..

i tried to boot from cdrom, os9 , osx, osx server... nothing happens..

This is assuming that you have simply forgotten your open firmware password. 1. Start up into Open Firmware by pressing and holding the Command-Option-O-F key combination during startup.
2. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-nvram
3. Press Return.
4. When prompted for your password, enter it and press the Return key.
It responds OK.
5. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-all
6. Press Return.

The computer restarts and you are now be able to reset the PRAM and startup in Single-user mode, Verbose mode, or from CD-ROM.
You should be able to hold OPT-S, which should give you the selection for both booting partitions, as well as a bootable CD if one is in your CD. LOL

Solution A) Shut down, unplug, open your server and rearrange the RAM chips. Press the PMU reset button. Start up and see if it works.

If it doesn't, try

Solution B) Shut down, unplug and disconnect/remove the clock battery. Leave it out for at least two hours. If it still doesn't work, leave it out for a day or two.
