open wps files on Mac

I have just switched from my PC to Mac. I have all my documents saved on a HP Simplesave drive. All my documents are in wps form. Is there a way to convert them so I can open them on my Mac? If it helps, I have the Pages app.
 
.wps are Microsoft Works documents.
Even Microsoft moved away from that file type about 5 years ago.

Pages won't open those files...

You can open those files directly in Open Office, or NeoOffice.
