opening optical drive slot

I recently bought a 04' g5 power mac to replace the g3 I had and to save money I kept the old keypad. How do I open the optical drive slot to insert a dvd/cd without having an eject button on the keypad I kept?

f12 will usually work when a keyboard does not have a dedicated eject key.

Just an expansion on DeltaMac's answer: sometimes you need to hold down the F12 key for a moment or two -- a single, quick press won't do it.
