OS Tiger Install Problems

I have iMac Power PC and I am trying to reinstall Tiger on my computer. However, everytime that I am trying to an error message pops up stating that there was error during the installation process and I need to restart.

I have been repeating this process and I have the same results. I had previously installed a new hard drive (many months ago) and it was working fine. Then, all of a sudden there was error messages that kept popping up. This was the reason why I am trying to reinstall Tiger on my Mac.

I think there may be problems with my RAM or it could just be my startup disk???

Is there anyone that can help with this problem? Thanks in advance

Sure, we can help here...
Have you tried booting to that install disk, and opening Disk Utility (from the Utilities menu), and trying to Repair Disk?

Also, we could use just a little more info. What exactly is that message you get when the installer fails? There will always be a distinctive icon (red stopsign, yellow yield, etc.), and a text message that will be worded in a particular way. Need to know the exact wording.
What's the result of the Repair Disk?

I actually tried installing 10.4 a week ago and got the same error. Not that it really matters what system it is though. It turned out that my disc was just scratched badly and could not be read.

How far does your installation go?

Does the machine restart fine after the install? We have a set of 10.3 installers at the shop that every time I use them to install a system it comes up with the same error, but it successfully loads the OS every time. And I have yet to have any one of the machines that I've used these installers with come back yet.
