OS Tiger, printing internet pages

Running OS Tiger on an iMAC G5. I have repeatedly been unable to print receipts, or worse, airline boarding passes that I"ve generated using Safari to my HP 6100 printer. It would be easy to blame the printer and I did download the most recent driver I could find, which didn't help at all. I also downloaded Firefox, and while I was able to print from some websites unusable with Safari, such as a U. S. passport application, it didn't help with most other sites. I finally got someone with a Powerbook that runs Panther to hook up with my printer and they had no trouble at all. I have called Apple support and am getting the lonely feeling I'm the only person dealing with this hassle - this must be happening to someone else!.
Thanks.

What happens when you print out of Safari or FireFox? Please elaborate... are there any error messages? Does Safari "seemingly" print, but then nothing ever pops out of the printer? Does Safari not even attempt to print? What exactly happens?

Have you tried printing them to a PDF and then opening them in preview to see if this is still an issue. That should narrow down the problem to where you can blame Safari or just the Printer/Driver.

If I choose "print" as my option directly, it goes to print, and 2-3 blank pages come out of the printer, sometimes with the top inch of the document I want. No error message is ever generated. I have opened these documents in preview then printed from preview. Same thing happens. I have also saved the documents to the desktop as pdf's, then opened the pdf's and tried to print. Occassionally that step helps, but usually not. Documents attached to emails that I down load open and print successfully. It is the receipts, invoices, applications, etc that are generated during doing work/business on the internet that almost always fail. Again, I have successfully prnted the same documents from both Panther and Windows XP (sorry) to the same HP Printer. Thanks.
