hi
I know this question has been asked by many people but i need help!

I have a imac g5 1.8mhz and i've just added 1gb of memory!

It has os x 10.3.9.

Is there any way i can load the os x leopad dvd that i have with out having to buy os x tiger???

Thank you

Have you actually tried to install it yet? If you have the full version retail Leopard install disk, you should be able to install it on that model iMac with no problem.

hi

I just tried again but the computer comes up with "unable to upgrade to 10.5"
"cannot find os x 10.4"

Does that make any sense????

It sounds like you have an upgrade disk and not a full retail version.

What does the disk look like?

Also, what option if any are you choosing when attempting this?

With an upgrade disk, you need to have the previous version number of the OS installed to do an upgrade - which would in your case would be 10.4

If the seller misrepresented the disk as full version, dispute it with ebay and demand a refund - ebay will almost always side with the buyer.

I could be wrong, but I think you should be able to upgrade to 10.4 from the
Apple Web Site. Then, 10.5 should install O.K.

Yes, Jackrushing, you would be wrong.... There are no (legal) downloads to upgrade your OS X from one generation (10.3.x) to another generation (10.4.x or 10.5.x)

Rather than trying to find 10.4 and add an inbetween-step, I'd try to find a real retail version of Mac OS X 10.5. It's available in stores.
