OSX Icon on screen

Below my OSX icon are some letters LKjgfzK I'm trying to get that off and I would like just the regular OSX icon. What do I do, or what happened?
 
On my screen is the icon OSX below this icon are the letters LKjgfxk I don't know why they are there. Can someone help?
 
Brand new Macbook, it has the one icon on the screen and below that it did say Mac OSX,10 but now it has those strange letters. Thanks, Howard
 
You're probably referring to your hard drive. Does the icon look like a hard drive? If so, highlight the icon, then press "Enter." You will be able to rename it to anything you want (I would recommend alpha-numeric only, though).
