I have a MacMini 1.42GHz G4 currently running OS10.4.7

I have a legal copy of OS10.5 and I'm trying to install it.

Whenever I run the installer, it runs fin up to the point it installs the BSD subsystem:

At this point it will have alot of disk and CPU activity for about 5 minutes and then everything will stop. Not locked-up, just idle. The progress bar still has it's animation. I've tried it on 3 different make/model/size hard drives and it always does the same. I don't have a DVD drive in my PowerMac AGP so I can't try it on that.

Any ideas?

Since MacOS X 10.5 has not been released and will not be released for about six months, you cannot possibly have a legitimate copy of MacOS X 10.5. Only developers have copies. Whoever gave you this copy violated his NDA.

ya, there is no legal copy of 10.5, which is why it doesn't work. that and i have heard romurs that it is 64bit only, so no more g3s or g4s need apply.

From the "read before you install"
System requirements
You must have a Macintosh computer with:
• an Intel processor or a PowerPC G4 or G5 processor
• a DVD drive
• built-in FireWire
• at least 256 MB of RAM for a Power-PC based Mac and 512 MB for an Intel-based
Mac (additional RAM is recommended for development purposes)
• a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported
by your computer
• at least 6 GB of disk space available, or 8 GB if you install the developer tools
-----

If it was not G4 Mini compatible, it would not go through 90% of the install.

Although not strictly warez - unless you are a developer provided with a copy under the Apple developer - your copy is not legal, and this site does not provide support for that software.
If you are a developer, then contact Apple for some answers. Your version may not work properly on the Mac mini, and you can report that to the developer's web as a bug. But, as a developer, you would know that already. :)

Feel free to ask after Leopard is actually released...
