I just upgraded my imac to one of the lovely new ones with a flat screen - this introduced me to X (Jag). I have to admit that I am finding the transision from OS9 to X rather difficult. One of the things that puts me off is the fuzzy out of focus look to everything. If I boot with OS 9 (sacralidge!) everything looks sharp and business like again. How can I get this sharp interface in X instead of the (to my mind gimicky) visuals provided?
Supplimentary question: is it really true that things are easier to achieve with X? So far it has proved less productive than 9 to me. Is there any hope for a time-served mac loyalist?
