Outlook Express 5.0.6 Addresses to Mail In Osx

Help (again!)

I've just updated my Dad's old G3 iMac from OS 9.2 to OSX 10.3 and I can't import his addresses from his previous email programme Outlook Express 5.0.6. Someone told me to try and import from Microsoft Entourage which I've attempted but still no joy.

Where are the addresses from Outlook Express?

Are they in a folder or sub heading I'm not seeing?

My Dad's goingto kill me if they're gone!

Did you wipe the entire drive clean before installing Mac OS X? If so, the addresses (and all other data on the drive) are gone.

If you simply installed over the top of OS 9, then they should still be there -- simply boot back into OS 9, launch Outlook Express, and verify that the addresses are there.

My hope is that bobw will be around shortly to help you with the transfer of addresses to Mac OS X -- it seems as though he's got every known transfer utility under the sun memorized!

I'm no expert, but I almost lost my addresses if I hadn't exported addresses (preferences in OE) on to my bureau (desktop). The archives is another question. Then imorted them back. In a word, kept a copy safe and sound. Does that sound right? Henry
