Palm Desktop issue?

Running 7B68 I can't seem to install Palm Desktop. This problem was also present in 7B49. Basically I fire up the installer, choose whatever settings and it will come back with a requester saying "Sorry, the operation could not be completed due to a System error: (Access Denied)".

The user I'm logged in as has administrative priviledges and I've tried running it as root too, with the same result.

Anybody running into similar problems?
 
Palm Desktop is always a bit difficult. ;-) I'd wait for the final version of Panther with this one. I also expect a new version of PalmDesktop to appear soon after Panther Final.

You might also want to try and download the newest version of Palm Desktop _again_ (even if your version is up to date). I was able to install Palm Desktop on at least one preview build of Panther, although I can't remember which build that was. I remember, though, that sometimes something's just wrong with Palm's downloads.

Oh you do, do you? ::ha::

Didn't it take Palm Inc. like 2 years to release 4.1 from 4.0, which brought essentially no feature improvements or bug fixes?

The first statement I agree with totally though. I had so many problems with PalmDesktop I sold my Palm Pilot. (I now just use iCal with my iPod).
