Panther on my old Powerbook G3

I tried to install panther on my old PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet I guess; version 2.2). I've got a 4gigHD and 192MB RAM. But the insallation software tells me that I can't install panther on this machine. Any ideas how to install it anyway?

Do you have usb? If not, you won't be able to install panther...

That machine doesn't have built-in USB, which is a quick-and-dirty way of determining whether your machine is Panther-compatible, so you won't be able to install it.

You can check out Ryan Rempel's XPostFacto software at http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/ for updates that will allow you to do this with Panther, but so far it only works with Jaguar and you must have OS 9 installed for it to work.
