I have a 1TB drive thats NTFS formatted and containing files. How can i make another partition so i can format it HFS+ but without deleting my already stored files?

Well you might be able to use Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X . Better yet make Windows XP2 or better see Mac OS Extended format with MacDrive.

Warning: i have heard on the Internet grape vine that MacDrive for Windows is WAY better & more reliable than Paragon's NTFS is for Macs.

You could also use a Linux boot CD (Ubuntu or Knoppix would be good bets). They can resize NTFS partitions without erasing. Then you should be able to go back into OS X and fill the empty space with an HFS+ partition.
