Hi all,

I try to get a 100 GB harddisk from my PC to work as an external storage for my PowerBook. I re-formated my HD using Disk Doctor on my Mac as Mac OS Extended format with install Mac OS 9 Disk Driver clicked.

I was connecting my HD using USB 2.0.
The problem is, my PowerBook cannot recognize my external HD every time when i plug it in, it will only recognize it ofter i reboot my PowerBook. Means that every time i wanna used it, i have to reboot my computer. Is it stable to used? how do i fix it?

Many thanks~

What it means is it could be one of four things. You Mac is having USB problems, the cable is flakey, the enclosure chip is going and lastly the hard disk in the enclosure is going.

So do this steps:

1. Unplug the enclosure and then Reset your Pram.

2. Run Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) on the enclosure on the external. If it can't fix it let Disk Utility reformat it, not a third party application

3. Change the cable out.

You should consider getting IMHO the best sick disk program DiskWarrior.

Reset Pram dint work, My HD was re-format using Disk Utility, will have it check it again and found no problem.

any idea where can i get a demo version of DiskWarrior?

Thanks
