PCR-M30 and Garageband '08

Hello to all,

I'm a complete novice to Garageband, but have been having fun with it so far.

One thing I would really like to be able to do, but can't figure out (and not for lack of hours spent trying) is assign tracks in GB to the sliders and twist knobs on my Edirol PCR-M30.

I've read the manual for the PCR-M30, but for a casual user like me, I just don't understand what it means by "bulk reception" and "midi i/f off" and the like.

Can anyone help me to understand in simple terms how I can assign volume control to the sliders and panning to the twist knobs on a per track basis in GB for my PCR-M30?

I would very greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Satcomer, I really appreciate that!

Just one quesiton: it says that the newest version fixed a problem that seemed to make the System Preferences hang - have you used this software and do you find it responds ok?

I'm just a bit hesitant as this MacBook is for my business as well as personal use, so I can't afford to install something that has any chance of breaking the system.

Thanks again for your help!

Nope sorry to say. I just Googled that software to help you. If you decide to try the software you can always use AppDelete. I have used this free program and it finds all the parts of a program I want to remove from my system. It has worked very well for me so if i were you I would try out the software and then if you don't like it you can use AppDelete to get all of it.

Thanks, Satcomer, that's really kind of you.

I've downloaded that tool and looked at it, but unfortunately, it only administers events like stop, start, forward wind, backward wind, etc.

I need to learn how to configure my PCR-M30 so that the sliders and twist knobs correspond to the volume (sliders) and panning (twist knobs) for tracks in Garageband.

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.
