Photoshop suddenly slow

I recently updated (combo, permissions, diskwarrior) to 10.3.6. Now Photoshop 7 is slow as molasses for certain things. Launch seems to take forever - about a minute. The color picker is also incredibly slow - I get the pizza wheel when I click on it, and tabbing through the color fields is very slow. Never had this happen before.

I ran Diskwarrior again and it did fix some volume info stuff, but PS is still slow.

Any ideas? Bad prefs? Too many brushes (I have a lot of brush files, and a goodly portion of launch seems to be the reading of these files - though by default I only have the default brushes actually 'active')? Just 10.3.6 - and if so, should I go to 10.3.7?

Hmmm - no ideas eh?

I updated to 10.3.7 (combo, permissions, diskwarrior) and reinstalled Photoshop. Still slow. This is on my desktop G4 933 with 1 GB RAM.

On the other hand, Photoshop runs quickly on my G3 iBook with less RAM. Running 10.3.6.

Please - any suggestions? This is crippling me!

Have you tried resetting Photoshop's preferences? Deleted the preference files? This will return Photoshop to a default state, so color settings, palette settings and the like will have to be reset.
