I got a 2nd 40Gb hard drive - a Toshiba installed it in my Pismo... The 1st being an OEM Powerbook G4 40Gb. Same problem as before...
I am also on my second hard drive caddy. When I have the drive installed, it does not show the "Happy Mac" icon flashing a "?" - ONLY with out the hard drive does it do that. When I try and boot from a OS CD it shows the cursor and freezes. It also does not give me the external startup chime. It used to give me the startup chime from the sound out port (tested with a pair of head phones) - now it does not seem to. Both hard drives worked in my Wallstreet and the 18Gb in my Wallstreet does not work in my Pismo! Any thoughts? Something "simple" I am missing...?
