playing a dvd

What?

Are you sure DVD Player isn't playing, perhaps, a set of DVD files located on your hard drive somewhere?

Can you explain a little better and in more detail, exactly what's happening?

Yes I think it is playing a different copy from disk utility but I don't know how to make it stop. I previously opened wrong Movie (a)
To try to burn it to a DVD but I didn't know how so I quit doing that. Then I inserted dvd (b) to check to see if the i dvd burned from an I movie that I created before
That's when the dvd started playing movie (a).

Maybe you did in fact burn (a)? I don't know -- and it sounds like maybe you don't know what's on that DVD, either. That's a tough one to sort out.

Where does "Disk Utility" come into the equation? Do you, perhaps, have the disk image of a DVD mounted on your Desktop? If so, DVD Player won't know the difference between that and a real DVD that's inserted into the DVD drive -- and it will auto-play it as if it were a DVD disk inserted into the optical drive. If this is so, simply eject the disk image, and you should be able to play a DVD from the optical drive.

When I get home I am going to play (a) in a dvd player for the t.v. And see what's on it. My disk ut
ility was open and I do have a disk image on thed esk top it shows up when I put dvd in. Thank you for telling me about
The dvd player not knowing the difference.
