Not a sure conclusion to that thread - can you be specific about the problem that you are having??
If you have a similar problem, you could try the same tips. You can test your memory with the memtest software. Read the instructions carefully, as the software is specialized, and you can test most of your installed memory, but not all. The single-user boot requires some memory to work, and you can't test that portion.

You can also boot to the Apple Hardware Test, that came with your PowerBook. You will see that listed on the disk label, with simple instructions for booting to the test.
