You say it depends on the angle, so if you tilt the screen the area affected will change? This could mean the cable...
If you take a screenshot with Mac OS X, are these graphic errors ever present?
Do you have the install discs that came with this Mac? There is Apple Hardware Test on disc. Boot from it, hold down alt/option key (however it is marked on your keyboard) and select the hardware test, then the language, and hit ctrl-L to get it to loop mode. Run extended test for a few hours. It will stop if it finds an error (so it will test graphics, MLB, processor and RAM etc which are the other options for this) and it will show the error code, or if everything is clear it will stop when you hit ctrl-L again to quit the loop.
