Problem with DESKTOP FILES ALIAS HELP

Weird.Im a graphic designer so I prep and open files soooo many times a day to go to press and sometimes when I save to Tiff or other settings, what not...the Alias turns into totaly something else. but its still that file...like I would have a back an and front..after savign and converting them..they would both look like the bcks..or it would look like a folder but iits not..or it would totally just change into a drive..im like what?????
SO it totally messes up my work flow.....

When you use the term 'alias', are you referring to the file's icon? Your pic shows that the file's icon appears to be a folder, but really is just a file as you have saved it. If the icon is your problem, this should be fixed by logging out and log back in. If you don't get time to do that, remember that the icon is not the file, trust the name that you've given it. Re-open the file by name, not by icon. If I'm missing your point, then post again here. I don't this this as often anymore since updating (probably since about 10.2.4), so updating your system may help, if you have not done so.
 
DOH..sorry you right..I meant ICON not Alias.........and yes it does fix it when I log out and back in...back it happends tooo often..and when it does..it sometimes ....starts doing it on most of MY desktop icons...very weird..is there a fix for this?
And yea im up to date with 10.2.6...sooooo whats going on you think?
