I am surprised the installation even processed till 14%. If I am not mistaking it, your iMac G3 does not have any USB ports. If so, you are missing the major requirement for at least 10.3 and 10.4 (Tiger).
However, you might want to search for some hacks that will prevent the installtion stopping due to those requirements. But do you really think it's worth to run Tiger on your old iMac? I would rather give Tiger back to your dealer and save the money for a new intel system.

Zammy-Sam, you are confused. Apple introduced USB to the Mac world with the original iMac. This decision gave USB the credibility it needed to become the dominant player in computer peripheral connections. Suffice it to say, all iMacs, including the iMac G3, have USB ports.

Your informations about iMacs are bad. All iMacs have USB ports and most of iMacs have firewire ports. My iMac is compatibly with MacOSX 10.4.

I think he meant FireWire, which is a listed requirement of Tiger. But actually, FireWire was included in at least some 400MHz models (the 'iMac DV'). In any case, I don't think it should REALLY matter, because unless I'm very much mistaken, the FireWire requirement is completely artificial and only serves to reduce Apple's support costs.

As for what's causing the problem, I'm not quite sure. How much RAM does your machine have, and have you run the Apple Hardware Test?

The earlier model iMac G3 systems didn't have Firewire. Firewire only showed up on the iMac DV systems and after, if I rcall correctly. If you're doesn't have FW, then it might be the issue.

I had a similar problem with 10.2 on a beige G3 and the only way I could fix it was to do a "custom" installation - install the minimum amount of stuff then add the rest later.

(By the way, I wish my Czech were as good as your English! In fact I wish I knew a single word of Czech.) :(

Tech specs for Tiger show built-in firewire required and at least 256MB of RAM:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/

Since your computer didn't come with Built In Firewire then most likely Tiger won't install on your computer. And even if it does since you have a slower processor and less than a gig of ram (and the basic iMac video card to boot!) your Tiger experience will be slower than normal.

I just checked Mactracker, and EVERY 400MHz model has FireWire. So it's not an issue here.
