Problems with Automator...

Hi, i'm a bit a newbie so be gentle!

My dad's computer (A Mac PPC G4 running OS X 10.4.11) has recently come down with a problem. Since 29/12/09 (according to my dad) Automator has been messing around with some settings e.g. changing the settings on Mozilla Firefox and creating 2 shut downs, 2 restarts, 2 force quits and 2 log outs. And it's also creating Black Boxes around anything he clicks...

He's had to do a factory install to correct it but I want to know how to fix it should it repeat it's strange behaviour.

That is completely unrelated to Automator.

Go into the System Preferences, select "Universal Access," then turn off "VoiceOver."

He may have inadvertently turned that on by pressing command-f5 or command-function-f5. Reinstalling everything to correct this is like using a sledgehammer to swat a fly -- just turn off VoiceOver in the System Preferences and life is good.
