Problems with game controller

I have a USB controller and it only works sometimes. Yesterday it was working perfectly, no problems. Today I try and my mac just isn't detecting it. I've tried all the USB ports and nothing changes.
 
What make? Do you have drivers for it etc? Have you tried looking for updated drivers on the manufacturer website?
