I have an iMac 700 running OSX. I am having problems with performance. Sometimes it just slows down and you can’t even get the mouse to respond. It always seems to happen after some download. I think it is related to Suffit. I have tried upgrading Suffit and that is like a death warrant. I was considering a reinstall but thought I would ask opinions first. Maybe there is a utility that can help diagnose the problem. I do have two other Mac G4’s a 400 and a 867 that are not having the problem.
 
Well, first off, have you Repaired Permissions on the iMac? Plus, have you can ran fsck? Did it show any errors?

Plus, if all else fails, before a full reinstall try the Mac OS 10.2.6 Combo Update. Believe it when I say they can do wonders for a Macintosh system.
