Hello

I am hoping someone can help.

When I click on PS the icon on the dock jumps but nothing happens. PS is not open. It does not appear on the "Force Quit" list, it is not hidden, and when the icon is right clicked on it still gives the option to open.

I have tried the following:

- Restarting
- Opening it via Applications, quicksliver, by clicking on a raw file, opening via Adobe bridge...
- Using time machine back ups to restore PS
- Using time machine back ups to restore all Applications
- Uninstalling PS and then using time machine backup to restore PS

Nothing seems to help!

Hope someone has some ideas.

Thanks

Can you be more specific? MAC/OS and PS release/version information, is there any information/message in the Console (logs) (under utilities)?

Hello

I have a Mac 0S X
and its Adobe Photoshop 4.

The console log just says:

07/07/2010 11:09:40 [0x0-0x1c01c].com.apple.Safari[196] Canceleld; 0; Empty 1

over and over again.

any ideas?

OK - What OS X version do you have?

Has PS ever worked on this Mac?
How long has it been since you last used it successfully?
If you try a different user account, Does PhotoShop open then?
Create a new user just for this purpose....

Sorry version 10.5.8!

PS has worked well since I have had the mac up until this Sunday...

I have just tried a different account and no such luck..

Try to launch Photoshop while you have the Console/system log open. I think you can safely ignore any Safari messages at this time, or simply quit Safari while you try this...

Look through other logs in the console. There will be crash logs for specific apps, so you should look for Adobe, or CS3, or Adobe PhotoShop, or etc.
If not in a crash log, then there may be other logs that are app-specific.
If that doesn't show anything at all, try rebooting your Mac into safe boot mode (holding the shift key until you see the rotating gear under the grey Apple). It will be a longer boot, and you will get login screen, so log in to your user, and try photoshop.
Does Adobe Reader also refuse to start?
