Question re Apple support for Verizon wireless broadband

In my search for the best alternative for wireless broadband service, I note Apple provides a download to support the Verizon data card. It appears to be the only service provider for which Apple is providing support.

Does anyone know why?....or if there are plans to support others, such as AT&T EDGE technology, etc?

Terry

Actually, Airport and other wireless cards are supported. With OS X, you really do not need to used the ISP software or their recommended hardware - except for their wireless modem.

If you give specifics as to how you want to connect and with what computer, I can be more specific in how to set it up.

Cheryl, Terry is refurring to the new celluar based wireless card from verizon, not a third party airport card. From what I have seen on apples site the support for this is a separate download. I also heard that it worked great, but i have no first hand experience with it.

I thought that was what Terry meant, but I was unsure. In checking the Apple support for Verizon's card, Apple really does not support it. Apple refers you to Verizon Wireless Support.

I suggest you check out the wireless broadband companies in your area and question them.
