Re downloading apps from the Apple Store

I have an Application that is marked "Installed" on the Apple store. I tried right clicking, control clicking, command clicking, and option clicking to re install. Unfortunately absolutely nothing happened. I know there is a way. Can I get some help on this? Using OS 10.7.3.

Thanks

The Thread is useless. I tried this on all apps that I have purchased from the store. None will redownload. I wanted to re download, in particular, Xcode as it appears my copy is incomplete.

One of the 'fixes' is to uninstall the app completely, so that's a good possibility.
One way to do that is to go to LaunchPad.
Click-hold your downloaded app's icon (Xcode?) until it starts shaking. Click the little X to uninstall.
Then, AppStore will show that as a purchased app, and will say Install or Download.

I removed Xcode. It still will not redownload! Now I have lost Xcode. There is a way to do this but I don't know what.

How did you 'remove' Xcode?
This is one of those unusual times on a Mac when simply dragging the app to the trash will NOT be enough.
That's where at least one of the steps from that thread that I posted may help. An uninstaller app may show that you still have pieces of Xcode left on your drive.
Try AppCleaner for this test.

Several choices come to mind.
Make a new Apple account, and then download xcode with that account.
Download xcode on another Mac.
Contact Apple for help in getting Xcode to download again.

The App Store knows what you have already installed.
Keep in mind that the App Store is NOT a repository for your apps, it's an online store, where you purchase those apps. If the app is already installed, it will let you know.
If you need to reinstall that app, then uninstall it first. The Launch Pad can be a good method to uninstall your app. That will work very neatly, and then the App Store will let you install your app again. You should try to log out, then log back in to the App Store. If you want to keep a copy of the app for a later use, then back up the app to another drive.
If for some reason the App Store still does not let you install again, and the support info available from the Quick Links in the App Store does not help you, then there may be something gone wrong with your AppleID or your Apple account, etc. You should contact AppleCare for some help with that.
You could also log in to another Mac, using your AppleID, which should show those apps as available to install or download.
