Re spotlight

I disabled spotlight some time time ago and since then have ungraded the oS. In enabling spot light again search.bundle in the Library/coreservices folder hides all the menu bar ie date,time etc I recall seeing a note about this many months ago when it first happened but, can't remember the details of how to restore this properly.

Go to the folder /System/Library/CoreServices/Spotlight and click to run the program.

Thanks for that but 10.4.11 there is no actual spotlight folder in that location.
maybe I'm missing something here.

You could try booting into single User Mode (Command-S at startup) and run the file system check by typing:

/sbin/fsck -fy

Then type reboot when the check is complete.

Enable it with OnyX. Less hassle..

Thank you all. I have tracked the problem down to update placing an under resourced folder in the search.bundle package (that I had moved out originally and lost). replaced that with a good one and all is well.
