red light and fans going mad plus no boot

A lot of time when I restart my g5 it won't even boot and I see a red light inside the g5 ... I found that if I turn off the power mac g5 during this error that it will do it again and again....the only way to get past this is to let it not boot and then the fans start spinning faster and faster ...I have to let them get to a fast speed that the noise is really loud and then I press power button to turn off. after this the mac osx will boot fine. but if I ever choose restart from osx the problem may come back or it may not...
I already reset the firmware or pram many times ..also smu doesn't help.

I'm thinking this is from my recent update to 10.4.6 but i'm not sure...
does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?
 
It sounds like something hardware has gone inside the Mac. I think it is time to take it to be looked at.
 
I don't know if your G5 came with a hardware test disc, but if it did I recommend running that to make sure it's not a hardware problem.

All new Macs have shipped with a hardware test disk, since about Summer of 2000, maybe before.
