Hello guys, i'm about to replace the hdd by a new one and I want to be shure about the compatibility.
The original is a Samsung 80Gb / 4200rpm
HDD P/N:HS082HB/A
8M/PATA
Rev.A 2008.03
SEC HS082HB (B) S/N: S1BPJ16Q326256

The new one:

Samsung 160GB/5400rpm/8M/PATA
Model:HM160HC
S/N:S12TJDZB204333

Can you please tell me that it's gonna be ok???
Thanks a lot!

Should work fine. But if your not sure about which is the correct drive do you think you can do the replacement?

I can predict one problem.
Your MB Air uses a 1.8-inch HDD.
The replacement that you listed is a 2.5-inch HDD.
So - you'll need a really big hammer (and probably a grinder tool) to get that drive inside the Air.
Bottom line - you need to get a 1.8-inch HDD for a replacement. A 2.5-inch HDD cannot possibly fit.

Oops, I didn't read the title...Macbook Air. My bad. Yeah, like Delta said probably won't work and not for the faint of heart to change. Some very delicate stuff needs to be disconnected/reconnected.
