Retrocomputing with Grandaddy

Mac of the SubGenius! :-)
Since we do talk about Apple and its products, I thought I would take us back in time with the Apple II. :)

This is a music video by the band Grandaddy. It was created with a 1979 Apple II+ and the program was created using Applesoft BASIC. The source code for the program is free for download even...(in case you want to tinker with it on an Apple II emulator).

Just goes to show you that you don't need an obscenely-fast computer (PC or Mac) to do something really creative.

Gotta love retrocomputing, especially with an Apple. :D

That reminds me of spending the best part of six weeks in the early 1980s with my chinese girlfriend writing a programme on a BBC computer attached to my portable B&W television. She was good on the technical side, I provided the inspiration. It was called the 'Cosmic Toilet', complete with flushing sound effect.

It only last two minutes, but it was a tour de force of electronic art.

Sadly, the computer was replaced by an Amstrad and that's another story....
