My ISP assure me my internet line is working correctly, and i am 100% certain my username and password are correct. neither my ISP or router helplines have any more advice.

If anyone has any advice that could help, id really appreciate it.
Thanks. Hobbsy1989

Are you setting up the router for PPPoE, or are you setting up your Mac for PPPoE?

If the router uses PPPoE to connect (like, for a DSL connection), then you need to set up the router with your PPPoE username/password information, and then set your Mac to use ethernet or wireless with DHCP.

If this is not the problem, please explain what exactly is going on, and where that log file was taken from (ie, the router or the Mac).

When you buy a new device that connects directly to the cable/DSL modem you have to turn off your modem for a minute or two then turn it back on. This way your ISP will then recognize the new connected device.

Forget that included wizard. Those wizards are for brain dead Windows users. So to get the router working grab you router manual because you are going to need it.

1. Power off your ISP modem. (Please let us now what kind of hight speed it is) for one to two minutes.

2. Power off the router.

3. Turn on the router THEN turn on the router.

4. Connect your Mac to a LAN port on the router (the routers connection to the modem should be on the router's WAN port).

5. Then on you Mac open System Preferences->Network pane and highlight "Ethernet".

6. In there see if you an "Advance" in the bottom right hand corner and push it.

7. Go into the configure IPv6 and turn that off.

8. In the IPv4 portion do do have an IP that looks like 192.168.xxx.xxx ? Take a look at the Router line and remember that number (If you get a valid IP).

9. Put that router IP in your favorite browser address window.

10. When the log it comes up look into your router manual for the login name and password and then input them.

11. Configure the WAN portions of the router to your ISP required settings.

Please report back if you can get this far.

I appreciate the support, however on point 3 you say "Turn on the router THEN turn on the router." did you intend to say power the modem then router or vice versa?

In point 4. you say "the routers connection to the modem should be on the router's WAN port" should i be connecting my router to my modem via a cable? currently my modem attach's to my mac via a USB cable and my router is connected via an Ethernet cable.

In point 6. I have opened the Ethernet page and pressed 'configure IPv6' and receive a IPv6 address of "fe80::214::51ff::fe32:a44"

My ISP modem is a "speedtouch USB" unfortunately i have no documentation on its speeds.

The logs in the original post are from the router.

Im using a ADSL line, not a DSL, just to clarify the device says it is ADSL2+ router but "ADSL" is not included in the model name. So i am using a ADSL router and line.

I believed my new device was a "modem router" hence making my USB modem redundant. was i incorrect?

OK. what is you ISP modem and the kind of internet connection you have? Is it a DSL or hight speed cable or satellite?

I live in the UK, and have an ADSL internet connection. I believe the information works along my primary phone line. i have to insert a microfilter at my phone socket to connect my phone and the phone line cable. [Just in case ADSL is not a system commonly used in America ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADSL)]

My ISP modem is a "Speedtouch USB" USB modem.

Thanks.

OK. ADSL is like DSL here in the States. So you should first check the settings page of your ISP to get the style of login. Here in the States DSL usually uses something else of connecting to the ISP (WAN connection in the router) then just the standard DHCP.
