Safari and iTunes won't launch :(

I did a software update, and now Safari, iTunes, and just about every other application (software updater, pages, etc.) won't launch!
When I click on them I get an error message "The application quit unexpectedly".
I just got my macbook, and it doesn't work

Try reinstalling the Mac OS X 10.5.4 combo updater.

How would I do this without access to the internet on my laptop?
(I'm on my PC right now)

1. Download the file I linked to from your PC.
2. Burn to a CD / put on a thumb drive / transfer over network / etc.
3. Double-click and install on your Mac.
