Script reading iTunes data

Is there any way i can have a script detect when a specific <song> hits a certain "Plays" count and perform something when it detects that? Or otherwise, check what the current plays is at, and if it is "x" number or greater, perform something?

Because currently the closest i have been able to come is to perform after a certain amount of time, not # of plays

Andrew you can look in iTunes, select List View, and right click on the title bar that includes the word and select "Plays" to see each line's number of plays.
