Scsi nightmare!!!

Hello,

I've got a blue and white g3 that I use for music.

It's got a akai sampler, and an iomega zip 250 connected to it by scsi

recently a lacie hard drive crashed (and has cost me £700 to recover the data!!) - but since then every time i turn it on it doesnt get past the first extension, and the cursor turns from a spinning icon to a bomb?!! (which im guessing is bad!)

the only way i can get it to boot is either by pulling out one of the scsi cables - after which the computer boots up fine, but without recognising any of the the scsi, or resetting it , and turning it on leaving the sampler and zip turned off.

does this mean either the sampler, zip or something else is broken, or ois there a way of refreshing??

if you could help i'd be eternally grateful

thanks

S

Make sure that you don't have any SCSI ID conflicts with your other devices. Also, make sure that you're terminating your SCSI chain if you need to.

You would have to look at each physical SCSI device and see what SCSI ID it is set to, making sure none of them are using the same SCSI ID. Usually this is done with a switch on the back of the device.
