I did it, I burn the bootable and modified OS X 10.1 update CD, when it install essential package, it prompted that " an error had occurred, installation cannot continue". Will anybody tell me what had happened. I burn the CD under Toast 4.2

Check that out! i386 executables on the 10.1 cd!

You should remove the file 'volumecheck'. The file 'checkforosx' will be useless now.

When you say that there are x86 executables on the CD, do you mean GUI or command line? If the answer is command line, don't get too excited. They're there because Darwin runs on PCs. If you get the Darwin installer from apple, you'll find that ALL the CLI programs are fat binaries (PPC/x86).
Now, if you're saying that the Finder is a fat binary, get excited ;-)
