Services info?

...I've never got as far as unlocking the true functionality and features of the Services Menu. I've never really understood it to be honest, but i am sure i am missing out something here. Can anyone shed some light on the services menu, and how it can help work for me.

For example, i was interested in the 'Grab' integration, and yet i cannot find an instance where Grab has the options highlighted for me to use.

I am sure someone must know more about this kinda stuff? ;)

The Services menu things only work with Cocoa applications, and Carbon applications specifically written to take advantage of Services.

Try this: open TextEdit, then type some text. Highlight some of that text, then choose (from the Services menu): Mail > Send Selection. A new mail message with that text should open up.

In short, you may be trying to use Services with applications that don't support Services. Play around with it in different applications and you'll get the hang of it. It's quite possible that all the apps you've tried don't support Services.
