Setting up Mail app

How do i set up the MAC OSX mail program? I cannot figure it out. I want to transfer my hotmail account to the app if it is possible

Hotmail is webmail, and will not work with Mail.app. There are plug-ins that allow you to download hotmail mail into Mail.app, but you can't send hotmail mail with it.

At any rate, you'll need either a POP or IMAP mail account. You usually get one or two of them through your internet service provider. Check with them about your email account settings (ask them specifically what settings to use to set up an email account, and what kind it is) and post back here when you find out. We'll walk you through setting up the email account in Mail.app.

i never got an email back when i subscribed but thats when they used Excite and that mail was canceled from what i've known. So i'm kinda outta lucky using the mail app. No Biggie...really dont care just wondering if i could use it
