Setup date and time

My MacOSX server's time seems to slow down. I set the date and time to correct last Sunday and today it was 20 minutes than the actual time.... Don't know why it happens.

Anyway, is there anyway this can fixed?

Can OSX update it's time from another server? Or else is there any command to do so? Perhaps a shell script???

Thanks..

I'm not sure about the MacOSX Server, but in Jagaur open:

System Prefences -> Date & Time -> Network Time -> put a check mark in "Use a network time server" then choose the time server.

I hope it is simular in the X server.

But what is a network time server?

And which machine do I nominate as a network time server if my computer is already connected on the net as standalone server?

Does the network time server has to be a macosx machine?

It uses Apple's network time server. There should be a list of servers you can check. You want the Apple Americas server.

If your clock is that much off, you should try replacing the battery. It shouldn't be going that far off in a week.
