Sharing iTunes library?

My wife and I share an iBook. It's mostly mine, and I have my mp3s on it. She wants access to listen to music when I'm not around. I was trying to not place my library in a public foder. So, I tried changing the permissions on the Music folder to give her group read only access. I then gave the same permissions to my Itunes folder and clicking the button to assign the same read only permisions throughout the itUnes dir. However, when I open her iTunes, it still does not show my music. (I also changed in her preferences under Advanced to use my folder.)

Any ideas? Thanks.

Most likely iTunes needs write access to the iTunes database/XML file(s), which she wouldn't have with group read-only access.

I think your only option is to place your iTunes library in a shared folder.
