Software Update Notification.

When Apple releases a new software update, my computer has always notified
me that the new software is available for update. This has not happened with
10.5.7. I can punch up software update in Systems preference, and Check Now, and it shows the update. Not the Combo, just the update, which is only
286 MBs. I tried to download it, but it stopped after about a minute.
What do you recommend? Should I wait to get a notice, or should I go to the
Apple Site and download the Combo?
I am currently running 10.5.6. Thanks

You will never get notification of the Combined updater for 10.5.7, if you now have 10.5.6
You will just see the 'small' update.
Most people here, and experienced users, do not recommend letting Software Update do point updates for your system.
The recommended update will be the Combined 10.5.7 updater, which you get at the Apple web site.
I then recommend that you restart your Mac as the last step before you actually install that update. That will give the update the best chance to update with a minimum of glithes
