cause the browsers to crash. i have tried on safari, firefox, flock, and camino and they all crash on all the above sites and many others.

however, netflix watch it now, south park studios and ebay and other sites run without any problems.

this happens on all accounts on the computer which is less than one month old, up to date on all updates for mac os x, and adobe flash.

macbook, running osx 10.6.2, 4gb ram. up to date.
some websites crash on all browsers

All these sites have adobe flashplayer in common from what I can see. Go to yourharddrive/library/internet plugins and delete the Flash Player.plugin. Once you revisit those sites you should be able to reinstall it.

ok i will try that, go you think flash is the problem since other sites with flash seem to work ok??

anyway i will try it and report back!

tried, it, it didnt work.

Try changing your Safari to open in 32-bit mode.
Get Info on your Safari application, and click the box Open in 32-bit mode
Quit Safari, then re-launch.
try your web sites.

i tried to repair disk permissions.

i turned the java script off, and i can look at the sites, but it says i dont have flash installed.

i tried to move the java off the internet plugins folder, reboot and then put it back, but now even with java script turned on it is saying i dont have flash installed.

i have done that, (many times) but websites, that use java and flash are crashing. the only way to stop this is turn of java script. but then of course they dont work.

ok, i am going to try to repair disk, and if that doesnt work, its time to make an appointment for the apple store....

You could always try to manually download all of the 10.6 updates and reinstall them. The updates usually have Java updates bundled with them. There are other utilities like Onyx that also might fix the issue. I would assume the Apple store is going to charge you for an archive and install, which on 10.6 is just a reinstall of the OS that defaults to an archive an install.

i did a repair disk, and will try onyx, i would hope apple does not charge since the computer is brand new (less than a month) old.

thank you guys,

i called apple and they had me reinstall safari and that worked like a charm. everything is working now on all browsers.
