Spotlight and Find broken after iMac SMC Firewire Update 1.0

I recently upgraded to the latest firmwire, iMac SMC Firewire Update 1.0, and now I have no find functionality on my Intel iMac. Soptlight shows, but doesn't search for anything. File find searches and searches but never finds anything.

I tried restarting and repairing permissions and that didn't do anything. I tried deleting com.apple.spotlight.plist and no luck either.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Anyone know how to force Spotlight to update?? Maybe it just lost all it's info.

I can usually get Spotlight to re-index by adding my entire hard drive to the Spotlight exclusions list, then removing it.

Download the latest version of Onyx and have it reset Spotlight.

This should fix the problem.

Update: You may need to replace JUST THE SYSTEM FOLDER. No need to replace anything else.

Obviously, this isn't normal. Anything else acting outside the norm?

A firmware update should not be messing with your data. Period.
