Spyware? or just a site problem

My problem is as follows

Till around yesterday I was able to access the following 2 sites
www.airways.com and www.airlinemogul.com, both of which are online airline management games

Since then however whenever I try to access the sites either directly through the bookmarks or even through google I end up at a completely different stite which is obviously some sort of a spam site as it has various advertising links etc.

Alternatively it keeps saying 404 page not found. The masthead on top of this page is from hostagator.com. Now I seem to also be having this problem with the apple downloads site

I thought it was a spyware problem so I downloaded something called macscan but that does not seem to have worked. I have also reloaded firefox but that doesn't seem to work either.

I am not sure how to carry on and request your help

Btw I've emailed the site admin and they report no problems

I have a macbook with OS 10.5.6

http://www.airways.com takes me to some "Cheap Airline Tickets" site -- and it's obviously not a game site.

http://www.airlinemogul.com takes me to a site that is clearly an online airline game.

It's possible you have the DNSChanger trojan -- simply Google "DNSChanger trojan removal" and you'll find an easy software package that scans and removes the DNSChanger trojan, if, in fact, you have it.
 
Btw installed the DNS Changer Trojan removal program and it did not find anything, meanwhile the problem continues...
 
Hmmm... you haven't acquired any illegal copies of either:

1) iWork '09
2) Adobe Photoshop CS4

...have you? Both pirated copies are known to have trojans included with them.

Not accusing you of anything, but it sounds like you've got some DNS changing program doing redirects for you.

What DNS servers do you have entered in your Network settings of the System Preferences? Howabout on your router/modem, if any?

Also consider using OpenDNS.com. They have a step-by-step video on using this free service. IMHO it is all true and really makes your surfing faster & safer without installing anything on your computer. It really shows how local ISPs are not keeping up with modern DNS.
