Startup problem

Yes, i rebooted OS X.
that had to happen.
and the system refused to start, locked out with the rainbow cursor stuck in the left corner. So i restarted again, same thing... So I restarted again, with the 'option' key pressed, rebooted in Mac OS 9... all went fine. I rebooted almost immediately, and then the login panel showed up just fine.
Has anyone experimented the same strange behaviour ?

Have you already tried resetting the p-ram?

That could be a great help.

If that doesn't work try reinstalling osx, don't worry it will only install anything changed or missing in the system.(that's what I heard)
